Denver Inches Closer To New All-Time February Snow Record

DENVER (CBS4) - The latest blast of winter brought 2.1 inches of snow to Denver International Airport overnight, making the total 19.3 thus far in the month of February.

That's just 2.8 inches from the all-time record of 22.1 from 1912.

With more snow in the forecast before the end of the month, it's very possible Denver will set a new record.

Jesse Sarles took this photo Thursday morning of crews clearing the sidewalk next to the History Colorado Center.

Currently, it's the fourth snowiest February in the Denver climate record.

The top three follow...

1942 - 19.5 inches
2012 - 20.2 inches
1912 - 22.1 inches

It's hard to believe the first 14 days of February brought record heat with three days in the 70s.
