Denver Celebrates Earth Day, Creates Environmental Awareness

DENVER (CBS4)- Denver celebrated Earth Day with a nod to creating environmental awareness among Colorado residents every day.

The City of Denver hosted a fair at Civic Center Park to educate the public on environmental responsibility.

More than 50 vendors participated in Wednesday's event which focused on five areas of conservation: energy, transportation, food, waste and water.

"Our message is about the water in Denver and why keeping the water clean is very important for the health of the people and the land around us," said Earth Force spokesman Donny Roush.

The event in Civic Center Park marks the 45th Anniversary of Earth Day which raises awareness about protecting the Earth's precious resources.
