Dementia Patients Light Up By Making Valentine's Day Cards With Kids

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - A group of young students were spreading the love ahead of Valentine's Day on Thursday.

Third-graders from Jefferson Academy Elementary visited dementia patients at the Greenridge Place Memory Care community. People living there and students worked together to decorate cards for the kids' families.

Greenridge staffers say the residents really light up when they spend time with the kids.

"Some of our folks, their grandkids live faraway, so to be able to see kids and interact with them brings life back to them," said Kathi Miller, Greenridge Place Executive Director.

The people at Greenridge Place hope to make it an annual tradition.
