Delivery Truck Hits, Kills Woman In Wheelchair In Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (AP/CBS4) -€” Police are investigating after a 50-year-old woman in a motorized wheelchair was hit and killed by a meat delivery truck in Aurora.

Witnesses told investigators the driver of the truck was making a right turn out of a shopping center on South Peoria Street at about 1:45 p.m. Friday when the vehicle hit the woman, who was on the sidewalk. The victim, whose name has not been released, was dragged into the street and run over.

She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Investigators say they do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The truck driver's name has not been released.
