Boulder Canyon Drive reopens after deadly head-on crash, Colorado State Patrol says

A head-on crash in Boulder closed Boulder Canyon Drive near Chapman Drive for several hours, according to Colorado State Patrol. It has since reopened, but one driver was killed and another was injured.

The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. and involved a 2020 Lexus RX350 and a 1997 Subaru Legacy. The 76-year-old driver of the Subaru was killed at the scene and they'll be identified by the Boulder County Coroner's Office after their family has been notified.

The 83-year-old driver of the Lexus was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition, according to CSP.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but the road reopened just before 1 p.m.
