Dead Skier Identified As University Of Colorado Student

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — A skier found dead after apparently hitting a tree at Eldora Ski Resort was a 22-year-old student at the University of Colorado in Boulder.

The Boulder County coroner identified him Thursday as Robert Miles of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

His body was found Monday night after a friend reported him missing. Sheriff's deputies found his car in the resort's parking lot and ski patrollers later found his body just off a ski run.

Coroner Emma Hall says an autopsy has been completed but the official cause and manner of Miles' death are still being evaluated.

The Daily Camera reports that Miles was a senior studying environmental engineering and music. He played the bassoon and was well-liked by fellow members of his engineering fraternity.
