Days After Murder-Suicide, Couple's Home Targeted By Thieves

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- Thieves who re-victimized a family just days after a tragedy that left two people dead are being sought by police.

At least three people are accused of stealing from the dead couple's home.

Police in Colorado Springs rushed to the home on Babcock Road for a murder-suicide in early April where the bodies of a husband and wife, Bruce and Corrinne Munger, were found inside.

Just a few days later, police were called to the same home for a burglary. Police said the thieves broke into the home three different times knowing that no one was home.

"It's very frustrating, I believe the victims were targeted specifically," said Colorado Springs Police Detective Mark Garcia. "We don't normally see this type of burglary, of a deceased home. It's quite rare for us to get one of these."

Police have identified the suspects as Drew Mazzella, 23, Cassandra Marshall, 23, and Eugene Griffin, 39. Their whereabouts are unknown. Police believe there are more suspects connected to the thefts.

The suspects stole electronics and the couple's vehicles, a truck and a motorcycle.

"Family heirlooms that were passed down from the grandmother to the mother were stolen in the burglary," said Garcia.

Additional Information from the Colorado Springs Police Department:

Anyone with any information about the thefts or the suspects is asked to call the Colorado Springs Police Department at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
