Dalai Lama Cancels Visit To University Of Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — The University of Colorado says the Dalai Lama has canceled a planned visit next month for medical reasons.

Friday's announcement came a day after news that the Dalai Lama was visiting the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, for a medical evaluation.

In a statement, the university says that the Office of Tibet in Washington, D.C. informed officials there that he won't be able to attend any of his planned events in the United States and that doctors have advised him to "take complete rest." The Tibetan officials say he will return to India next week but offered to consider rescheduling his visit, according to the university.
