Adrian Moya, 23, is now facing that charge as well as assault and possession of a weapon by a felon. He made his first court appearance on Monday and will be back in court on Wednesday, according to the 17th Judicial District Attorney's office. He's being held on a $500,000 bond.

Investigators say Moya fired on police officers when they made a traffic stop early in the morning on the Dec. 19. One officer was hit several times but was wearing a bullet-proof vest and sustained only minor injuries.
