Cutthroats Fall To Americans 5-4 In Double Overtime

DENVER (CBS4) – The Denver Cutthroats faced off with the Allen Americans for the second game in the Ray Miron President's Cup finals on Saturday.

In their first overtime loss of the postseason, the Cutthroats lost to the Americans 5-4 in double overtime.

The teams went into a scoreless sudden-death overtime with a score of 4-4 before entering double overtime.

Jamie Schaafsma scored the game winner just one minute and 51 seconds into the second overtime to knot the series at 1-1.

The Cutthroats will hit the road to take on the Allen Americans for games three, four and five in Allen, Texas starting on Wednesday.
