Customers Wait In Long Lines For Trader Joe's Opening
DENVER (CBS4)- Long lines of customers waited outside the three Trader Joe's locations in Colorado early Friday morning.
The location at 8th and Colorado opened a few minutes early due to the high volume of people lined up outside the store and down the alley.
Trader Joe's employees were greeting customers with truffles, roses and leis as they entered the store.
The long lines also caused some traffic delays near that location.
Copter4 flew over the Trader Joe's location at University and Orchard and found people lined up all along the shopping center.
Many of those in line were transplants to Colorado who are familiar with the grocery chain.
"Words I don't think explain. I've been counting down the days and I live off a diet of Trader Joe's normally and there's no Trader Joe's here," said Trader Joe's fan Paige Mullen.
"This is only my second time in a Trader Joe's. I normally just mooch off of her, she brings cases of it from home and I just eat all of her food," said Trader Joe's fan Kate Douglas.
Trader Joe's opened three locations in Colorado including another store at 29th Street in Boulder.
The store plans to open more stores, including Fort Collins.
