CU Secures Funds For Athletic Complex Expansion

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – The University of Colorado athletic department announced on Monday that it has secured enough funding to begin their $143 million athletics complex expansion project.

The department stated that they have raised enough money for the project through "the hard work of many in the athletic department over the past seven months."

The first phase of the project will construct an addition to Folsom Field that will include a new stadium club, rooftop terrace, a high performance sports center and additional restrooms and concessions area.

The next phase will be the renovation of nearly 80 percent of the Dal Ward Athletic Center that will triple the areas of the academic support unit to 15,000 square feet, will create locker room space and a new touchdown club.

They have set May 12, 2014, as their official groundbreaking date with the target completion date being August 2015.
