CU Coach MacIntyre Asks For Prayers For Zimmer

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Larry Zimmer, the longtime radio voice of the Colorado Buffaloes, is battling health problems and will miss his first CU game in 21 years.

Zimmer, 78, fell at home a couple weeks ago and has been hospitalized since. He won't call the CU game against Southern Cal on Saturday.

"If you're a praying person, which I am, I'd like for you to pray for Larry Zimmer. He's a phenomenal man," CU coach Mike MacIntyre said. "I think the world of Larry Zimmer, and we're definitely going to miss him and can't wait for him to get back in the press box against UCLA."

Zimmer, who calls the games for KOA, also handled play-by-play and color duties for Denver Broncos games.
