CSU's J.J. Avila, Daniel Bejarano & John Gillon Earn Mountain West Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP/CBS4) - Colorado State's J.J. Avila moved up to the Mountain West Conference first team and CSU's Daniel Bejarano earned second-team honors for the second consecutive season.

Boise State sophomore forward James Webb III and Colorado State sophomore guard John Gillon were chosen newcomer and sixth man of the year, respectively.

Boise State head coach Leon Rice was named coach of the year in the Mountain West Conference and Broncos senior guard Derrick Marks was selected as the league's top player.

The league's 11 coaches voted on the awards.

San Diego State junior forward Skylar Spencer and Wyoming senior forward Larry Nance Jr. shared defensive player of the year accolades and UNLV guard Rashad Vaughn was named freshman of the year.

Boise State won a share of the regular season crown by going 14-4 in league play. The 14 wins set a program record for most conference wins and the Broncos became the first team in Mountain West history to win a regular season title after starting conference play 0-3.
