No. 22 CSU Women Beat Aztecs 53-41 In MWC Semis, 26th Straight Win

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Elin Gustavsson had 21 points and seven rebounds and No. 22 Colorado State won its 26th straight in a 53-41 victory over eighth-seeded San Diego State on Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Conference tournament.

Colorado State has won seven straight in the series - the longest streak in the history of the matchup.

Gustavsson scored 13 of the Rams' first 22 points, including seven of their nine second-quarter points. CSU led by just five after three quarters, but started the fourth on a 9-2 run, with five points from Gustavsson, to take a 42-30 lead with 5:27 left. The Rams led by double figures the rest of the way.

Jamie Patrick added nine points and Alana Arias grabbed nine rebounds for top-seeded Colorado State (29-1), which had its first double-digit victory in the MWC tournament since 2008.

Ariell Bostick and McKynzie Fort scored 10 points apiece for San Diego State (12-19).
