CSU Starts Process For New AD

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Colorado State began the process of looking for its next athletic director by bringing in longtime academic leader Loren Crabtree to oversee the search committee.

Crabtree will help the school find a replacement for Jack Graham, who was fired last week by CSU President Tony Frank. Crabtree spent time as Chancellor at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. The retired Crabtree also served in different academic roles at CSU for 34 years.

The school will soon announce the rest of the search committee.

Frank hired Graham on Dec. 1, 2011, the same day he fired Paul Kowalczyk.

Graham was leading a campaign to raise $110 million by October to get the go-ahead for a proposed $220 million on-campus stadium project. Frank said Graham's firing was unrelated to the stadium issue.
