CSU Rams Exercise Option On Eustachy's Contract

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Colorado State has exercised its option to extend men's basketball coach Larry Eustachy's contract through the 2018-19 season.

Interim athletic director John Morris announced the move that triggers the first of three optional extension years in Eustachy's contract and could keep the coach in Fort Collins through the 2020-21 season.

The Rams have gone 42-25 under Eustachy, who was hired in April of 2012.

Colorado State won a school-record 26 games in his first season, cracked The AP Top 25 rankings for the first time since 1954, and beat Missouri in the NCAA tournament.

Eustachy took a 445-283 mark over 24 seasons into the Rams' game against Georgia State on Friday night.

He's led five programs to 24-plus-win seasons: CSU, Southern Miss, Iowa State, Utah State and Idaho.
