Crime Spree Suspect Charged With Child Sex Trafficking

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4)- The man accused of hijacking one car, stealing two others and trying to take more during a wild chase west of Denver last month now has another charge added to his long list -- child sex trafficking.

Christopher Sullivan had already been charged with a list of felonies, including aggravated robbery and assault in connection with the July 23 crime spree, which investigators say started when he and a 17-year-old girl fled a traffic stop.

Over a two-hour period, the pair hijacked a car, stole a pickup truck and crashed through a closed garage door in a stolen SUV, police said. The chase that was captured on helicopter video ended when a deputy and a passer-by wrestled Sullivan to the ground on a highway.

Sullivan, 37, is alleged to have been in Albuquerque, N.M. on July 21 when he solicited a 17-year-old female for sexual purposes. According to court records, the teen left New Mexico and traveled with Sullivan to Colorado on July 22.

He is accused of harboring, transporting and making available for sex an underage female.

The human trafficking of a minor is a separate case.
