Crews Search For Clues In Dylan Redwine Death Investigation
DURANGO, Colo. (CBS4) – Crews from across Colorado are helping in the search for clues in the death of Dylan Redwine. The 13-year-old disappeared before Thanksgiving 2012 and his remains found months later.
Searchers working on Middle Mountain about an hour outside Durango have hundreds of acres to comb over as they hunt new leads in the nearly four-year-old murder mystery.
Dylan's father, Mark Redwine, was named a person of interest in the case and investigators confirmed he remains the only one.
Searchers refused to say what they are looking for during this search but previous searches have provided clues that are helping in the case.
La Plata County Sheriff's spokesman Daniel Bender says 19 people were out searching Thursday with more crews from as far away as Denver and Grand Junction and the FBI on their way to aid in the effort.
Meanwhile, Dylan's friends and family are increasingly frustrated at the lack of an arrest.
"We know the public is frustrated that something hasn't happened quicker, we feel that frustration and have the same," Bender told CBS4 from the remote command post on the mountain.
Investigators looking for those viral few clues they need to solve this horrible crime and bring justice for Dylan.
"I'm confident having expertise and number of people that this will be successful for us," Bender added.
