Crews Demolishing Flood Damaged Homes

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – Crews in Larimer County will start demolishing a home damaged in the flooding last September.

The cabin has been around since the 1970s but the county determined it is too damaged to be rebuilt.

It is the first of six homes crews will remove in the Big Thompson Canyon.

The county says if left standing the homes could be washed away by rising water and cause more damage downstream.

They want to complete the demolition before the river gets any higher due to the snowmelt.
