Crews Battle Wildfires In Douglas County & Rocky Mountain National Park

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – Copter4 flew over a small wildfire in Douglas County Monday afternoon.

The 2-acre fire broke out near buildings in the Hayman burn area but so far none have burned and no evacuations have been ordered.

The fire is 50 percent contained.

The fire was spotted by a Flight For Life helicopter that happened to be flying over the area. The first responders to the fire was a Douglas County helicopter that dropped water on the fire before it was able to spread to nearby homes.

Another small wildfire broke out in Rocky Mountain National Park. It's burning between Spruce and Fern lakes. Crews had to hike in to battle the fire.
