Crews Battle Wildfires During Saturday's Warm, Windy Conditions

IDAHO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Saturday's hot temperatures and windy conditions kept fire crews busy.

In Clear Creek County firefighters battled a grass fire along Interstate 70 near the Twin Tunnels. Crews were able to quickly put the fire out.

Also on Saturday a brush fire forced people from their homes in El Paso County. It happened in Peyton, just northeast of Colorado Springs. No homes burned but the fire grew to 150 acres.

Crews kept a close watch on the area overnight to make sure nothing flared up. Deputies say a homeowner started the fire during a burn on private land. The landowner now faces arson charges for starting the fire.
