Creek Floods, Sends Mud Into El Paso County Home
GREEN MOUNTAIN FALLS, Colo. (CBS4) - Heavy rain caused some flooding on Monday in El Paso County.
The creek in the small town of Green Mountain Falls west of Colorado Springs was running dangerously high in the evening, and a bridge washed out in nearby Woodland Park.
At 3 p.m. the Farr family in Green Mountain Falls heard water coming into their home, and within a few minutes the whole house was covered in mud.
"There's nothing that can't be (replaced)," homeowner Brandon Farr said. "It's just all material. We're still here. It's not that bad of a deal."
Authorities are assessing the damage, but it looks like the home might be a total loss.
The Farrs house also flooded last August during a flood.
The American Red Cross is helping the family out.
