Titans Clash For 5A Title, But Creek Bests Valor Christian

DENVER (CBS4) - Valor Christian's dominance in the state football finals ended Saturday.

Cherry Creek eked out a 25-24 victory over Valor Christian, which had won five straight titles, to win the 5A state football championship.

Creek finished 11-3, while Valor Christian fell to 10-4.

The Bruins defeated the Eagles, 33-7, on Oct. 17, but Saturday's matchup was much closer.

With the win, Creek coach Dave Logan has now won a state championship with four different schools. He's previously won with Arvada West, Chatfield and Mullen.
