Berthoud Fire responded to the crash just after 7 a.m. at Highway 287 and CO 56 that involved a semi crane, SUV and pickup truck.

The SUV and pickup truck were parked on the side of the road after the SUV experienced mechanical issues. The driver of the pickup truck was helping the driver of the SUV when the crane crashed into both vehicles on the side of the road.

Investigators say the roads were wet in the area at the time of the crash which may have contributed to the crane's slide when the driver tried to brake.

The people inside some of the vehicles had to be extricated. One person was rushed to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
