Crash At I-25 & 23rd Ave. Causes Major Traffic Backups

DENVER (CBS4)- An early morning crash on Interstate 25 at 23rd Avenue caused major backups during Friday's commute.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes just before 6 a.m. Friday. Traffic was backed up for miles to U.S. 36.

Copter4 flew over the scene where headlights and brake lights could be seen stretching several miles in each direction.

Once the accident scene was cleared traffic started to move but it was expected to take a while because of the lengthy backups.
