Craig Hospital Patients Get Therapeutic Rehabilitation Sailing Cherry Creek Reservoir

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Volunteers and staff from Craig Hospital hosted an outing for some lucky patients on Friday.

Patients from across the U.S. suffering from paralysis and brain injury went out to enjoy time sailing across Cherry Creek Reservoir.

Hobie Day activities also double as a therapeutic rehabilitation program allowing patients to get out of the hospital and enjoy a day at the beach.

"It can be a long time for many of our patients. They have been in either Craig Hospital or another facility for days, weeks, sometimes longer; and to be outside, I think there is a healing nature to just being just outside in nature," said Tom Carr, Director of Therapeutic Recreation.
