'Cow Town' Moniker Holds True As Livestock Take To The Streets
DENVER (CBS4)- Denver lived up to its reputation as a cow town on Thursday morning when herds of livestock made their way through the streets of Lodo. The Stock Show Parade officially kicked off the 2016 National Western Stock Show.

More than 100 Texas Longhorn cattle walked through the streets of Denver at high noon on Thursday, along with marching bands, floats, horseback riders, cowboys and cowgirls. Denver Mayor Micheal Hancock even took the reins to a stagecoach.
The parade kicking off the 110th Stock Show began at Union Station and continued down 17th Street. Hundreds of people lined the streets to watch the parade.
The Stock Show Parade Grand Marshall is Rick Karlis, the famed barefoot kicker for the Denver Broncos.

The Stock Show continues through Jan. 24 with several events in the Denver metro area, including horse shows, rodeos, livestock judging and a favorite of many-- mutton bustin'.
