COVID In Colorado: CDC Investigating Outbreak Of Delta Variant In Mesa County

MESA COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) -- Officials from the Centers For Disease Control are investigating an outbreak of the Delta variant of the coronavirus in Mesa County. There are now 285 cases of the Delta variant in the county.

The one-week positivity rate in Mesa County is now 6.3%.

Just 40% of residents in Mesa County have been vaccinated.

The Delta variant was originally identified in India and now it's moving across our state, accounting for three quarters of new cases.
