Coroner Releases Identity Of Denver Man Who Drowned Rafting Green River
DINOSAUR, Colo. (CBS4) - The Moffat County Coroner's Office on Tuesday released the name of a 34-year-old Denver man who drowned while rafting on the Green River in Dinosaur National Monument on Saturday.
Richard Francis Zinter's body was recovered Monday by search and rescue staff from Dinosaur National Monument, the Moffat County Sheriff's Office and Colorado Parks and Wildlife near Triplet Falls in a remote area.
According to Dan Johnson with Dinosaur National Monument, Zinter was on a 16-member private rafting trip when a raft carrying four people flipped near Triplet Falls.
Three rafters were able to get to shore but Zinter was briefly spotted below a group of rapids called the Birth Canal and then disappeared.
The recovery effort took until Monday because the location of the accident was in such a remote area.
