Controversial Glass Cube House For Sale In Vail

VAIL, Colo. (CBS) - The house made waves when it was built in 1988, and is now stirring neighbors again. California financier Michael Tennenbaum's massive 5,132-square-foot home made of glass cubes is for sale in Vail.

It was an industrial, modern addition to the Bavarian-style houses of Vail's ski community, and over 25 years later, the house's avant-garde architecture is still a standout.

The community development director told the Wall Street Journal that the glass house would not be approved today with the existing building codes. Some say that will make it even more unique.

Listed for $13.9 million, the home sits between ski runs and features five stories, green-colored exposed steel beams and "translucent roofs," as the listing says.

More photos can be seen on the listing's webpage.
