Colorado State Patrol told CBS4 troopers received report of the crash just after 3 a.m. on I-76 westbound near Highway 85. I-76 was shut down, as was a portion of Hwy 85 until it reopened at 3:45 a.m.

On scene, troopers determined a Jeep caused a crashed with a Chevrolet Cavalier. It's not confirmed how many people were in the Jeep at this time, but troopers say someone in the vehicle died in the crash. The driver of the Chevy was not injured.

Copter4 was above the active scene at 6 a.m., where the Jeep involved could be seen damaged in the grassy median of the interstate. The Chevy had been towed by that time.
