Colorado Unemployment Rate Holds At 6.1 Percent
DENVER (AP) - Colorado's unemployment remained at 6.1 percent in February as more people got jobs and even more joined the labor force.
The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment said Friday that in a survey of households, the number of people reporting themselves as employed rose by 16,900 and the number who entered the labor force rose by 18,400.
The department says that rounding of the numbers used in the calculation resulted in an unemployment rate identical to January's at 6.1 percent.
Employers reported adding 6,200 jobs. The number of jobs statewide remained at 2.4 million after rounding.
The national unemployment rate rose one-tenth of a percentage point to 6.7 percent in February.
Colorado's unemployment rate has been declining since it peaked at 9.1 percent in October 2010.
