Colorado Trooper Injured In Chase Leaves Hospital

DENVER (AP) — A Colorado State Patrol trooper who was struck and seriously injured while trying to stop a stolen vehicle has been released from the hospital.

The patrol announced on Twitter that Bellamann Hee left the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Hee was hit when he was trying to put tire-puncturing spikes in the path of the stolen vehicle during a tense, high-speed chase across the Denver area on March 12.

He is an eight-year veteran of the patrol.

Twenty-eight-year-old Ryan Stone faces charges of attempted murder, kidnapping and other counts.

He's accused of stealing an SUV with a 4-year-old boy inside and abandoning it later. The boy wasn't physically harmed.

Authorities allege Stone carjacked two other vehicles before he was captured.
