Video Shows State Trooper's Near Miss In Blizzard

LOUISVILLE, Colo. (CBS4) - A Colorado State Patrol trooper had a near miss while investigating an accident on Highway 36 during last week's blizzard.

State Patrol spokesperson Nate Reid posted on the department's Facebook page that "while investigating a crash, one of our troopers was very lucky things did not get worse because someone forgot to SLOW DOWN and MOVE OVER."

The posted video from a cruiser's dashcam shows a trooper on scene of an accident. He appears to notice the oncoming vehicle, but steps out into the lane. When the vehicle swerves toward the accident, the trooper quickly jumps back out of the way as a vehicle continues down the road.

No one on scene of the investigated accident was injured in this incident.

Reid said, "The driver has not been found, but we hope she (and everyone that watches) will remember that lives can change -- or be lost -- in an instant."

It's a good reminder, with another storm moving into Colorado Tuesday night.
