Colorado State Transfer Octeus Joins Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Point guard Jon Octeus is transferring to Purdue after graduating from Colorado State and will be eligible to play immediately.

Octeus is a 6-4, 175-pound point guard who played two seasons at Colorado State. He started all 32 games as the Rams finished 16-16 last season, averaging 13.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

Purdue coach Matt Painter describes Octeus as an athletic, hard-working, versatile guard with a knack for getting to the basket and drawing fouls.

Octeus, who is from Miami, Florida, attended Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel, Illinois, as a freshman, averaging 12.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.

He earned a communications degree at Colorado State and is plans to seek a master's degree in the school of technology.
