Colorado State Patrol Prepares For High Enforcement Weekend

DENVER (AP) - The Colorado State Patrol will be stepping up enforcement this weekend with the goal of no fatalities and no tolerance for dangerous driving.

Patrol chief Col. Scott Hernandez says troopers will be looking for drunk drivers, speeders and people who are driving while distracted using cell phones and other devices.

Hernandez says there will be more than the usual number of troopers on the road this weekend.

Violators can expect warnings, citations, or even jail time, depending on the severity of the offense.
