Colorado Springs Mayor Won't Run For Re-Election

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Colorado Springs Mayor Steve Bach is not running for re-election.

Bach on Monday announced that he would leave office after one term. He was elected in 2011 as Colorado Spring's first so-called "Strong Mayor." The city's charter had changed to give the mayor more control of the city's operations.

Colorado Attorney General John Suthers and El Paso County Commissioner Amy Lathen have both said they want to run for mayor in Colorado Spring's 2015 election.
