Colorado Soldiers Headed To Guantanamo Bay

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) - Colorado Army National Guard soldiers are headed to Guantanamo Bay for a year-long deployment.

About 130 members of the 193rd Military Police Battalion are getting a sendoff Tuesday afternoon at the Douglas County Event Center in Castle Rock. They'll head to Fort Bliss, Texas first for more training before going to Cuba to serve as guards at the prison.

The Guard says about 10 percent of those deploying work in civilian law enforcement.
