Colorado Soldiers Going To Africa To Combat Ebola

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - About 160 Fort Carson engineers are being sent to Africa to help fight the spread of Ebola.

The soldiers assigned to the 615th Engineer Company, 52nd Engineer Battalion will help construct facilities to support the USAID effort. They will not be treating patients.

Other branches of the military, including the Marines, Navy and Air Force, will be participating in the mission.

The troops will receive special medical training and will use specialized personal protection equipment to prevent exposure.
