Colorado Ski Areas Announce Closing Dates

DENVER (CBS4) - More snow in the forecast is good news for ski resorts and now means a longer season.

Copper Mountain has announced the resort will stay open an extra weekend in April. Their closing date was originally set for April 17, but it will now remain open for the weekend of April 22-24.

Vail has also extended their closing date. Originally scheduled for April 10, nine days earlier than last year and worrisome for business owners, the resort has decided to now close on April 17. Nearly two feet of snow fell in Vail last week.

The Mary Jane lift area of Winter Park will remain open until May 7 due to all the recent snow. The Winter Park side will close on the originally scheduled date of April 24.

Keystone Resort has announced their closing day will be April 10.

Breckenridge is scheduled to close April 24, after a month of competitions and spring break events.
