Colorado School Of Mines Marching Band Featured In Dublin's St. Patrick's Day Parade
DUBLIN (CBS4)- The Colorado School of Mines Marching Band had the luck of the Irish on St. Patrick's Day. The marching band, alumni, strings ensemble and choir all spent Thursday in Dublin, Ireland.
The band hit the streets in Dublin where the band marched in the St. Patrick's Festival Parade.
The band received a formal invitation from the mayor of Dublin to perform in the annual parade. What began as a religious feast day for the patron saint of Ireland has become an international festival celebrating Irish culture with parades, dancing and special foods.
The 150 people from the Colorado School of Mines on the tour includes alumni who also marched in the parade along with the school mascot Marvin the Miner.
The School of Mines marching band even caught the eye of the St. Patrick's Day Festival Parade twitter.

The group is also taking time to tour the country by visiting historic churches, a Waterford Crystal Factory, the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland and even visiting a local mine.
