Colorado Rainfall Measured At Up To 4 Inches In Some Areas

DENVER (CBS4) - Torrential rain that dumped 2 to 4 inches of rain in and next to Colorado's Front Range finally stopped in the Denver metro area on Friday at midday.

The biggest rainfall total may have been from southeast Denver into northwest Elbert County, where some reports were around 3 to 4 inches.

As a result of all the rain, Flash Flood Watches still were covering parts of southern Colorado on Friday afternoon and were set to be in place through the evening.

The South Platte River and Cache la Poudre River are running very high and above floodstage.

Many areas of the rivers are under flood warnings. Please be very careful. The water is running fast and high, and is very dangerous.
