Colorado Powerball Winner To Claim Prize

RIFLE, Colo. (AP) — The winner of Saturday night's $90 million Powerball jackpot is set to claim his prize Wednesday.

Colorado Lottery spokeswoman Kelly Tabor says the winner is a man from Rifle, the western Colorado city where the winning ticket was sold. Officials won't identify him until he picks up his check at the lottery's office in Grand Junction Wednesday afternoon.

Residents have been hoping that the winner was from the city along Interstate 70, which has struggled to recover from the recession and a drop in natural gas drilling.

The winner can choose a $54.9 million lump payment or $90 million spread out over 30 years.

Another Colorado ticket also won $1 million in the drawing.
