Pelican Pond Stocked With Northern Pike To Combat Carp, Sucker Population

(CBS4)- Colorado Parks and Wildlife stocked northern pike into Pelican Pond at St. Vrain State Park this week. The species is also found at Pintail Pond.

Northern pike are one of 11 different species of fish found in the ponds. CPW uses northern pike in that park to reduce the over-abundant populations of carp, shad and suckers.
