Colorado Native Lt. Gen. Laura Richardson Is 2nd Female Combatant Commander In Army History

NORTHGLENN, Colo. (CBS4) - A Colorado native is now the second female combatant commander in U.S. Army history. Lt. Gen. Laura Richardson will lead U.S. Southern Command.
She'll oversee operations in Central and South America as well as parts of the Caribbean.
The Senate has confirmed Richardson's new command and promotion to four-star general.

Richardson grew up in Northglenn, and attended Denver's Metro State University.
