Colorado Mesa University Locked Down Amid Crash During Police Pursuit

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say Colorado Mesa University was locked down after a vehicle crashed on campus during a police pursuit and the suspects fled.

Police say officers took up the pursuit Sunday night after receiving a report that someone in a white SUV pointed a gun at a motorist.

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports that the fleeing SUV drove through the Colorado Mesa University campus and crashed into a fire hydrant.

The occupants scattered and CMU was temporarily placed on lockdown.

The paper says two people were caught by the time the lockdown was lifted after less than 45 minutes, while two adult male suspects were still free shortly before midnight.
