Colorado Marks 1 Year Of Legal Pot Sales Next Week

DENVER (CBS) - Next week will mark one year since Colorado became the first state to allow recreational pot sales.

CBS News reported on Friday morning that 2014 in the state was a year of highs and lows when it came to marijuana, and that Colorado reported a $43 million revenue haul from legal sales in the first nine months.

John Hudak watches marijuana trends at the Brookings Institution and told CBS News that "states have found that there is a selling point around the taxation of marijuana that's an important part of passing these initiatives."
