Colorado Man Suspected Of Shooting Wife At Nebraska Lake

OGALLALA, Neb. (AP) — A 43-year-old Colorado man has been accused of shooting his wife on a beach at Lake McConaughy in western Nebraska.

Witnesses report the shooting occurred Saturday night while a group of a dozen people or more were drinking and partying at a campsite near Martin Bay. Authorities say the woman was flown to a Colorado hospital and was expected to survive her wound.

Authorities say the man was arrested on suspicion of assault and a related weapons charge. Online court records don't say whether he's been formally charged. Keith County Jail records say he remained in custody Monday morning.
