Colorado Man Sentenced For Sex Crime At Sturgis Rally

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - A Colorado man has been sentenced to three years in federal prison for trying to buy sex with an underage girl during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota.

U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says 20-year-old Miguel Aguilar, of Brighton, Colorado, was one of nine men charged after a sting operation during the 2013 rally.

Authorities say Aguilar responded to an online ad place by police that purported to offer girls for sex, and later met with an undercover officer posing as someone who could provide a girl. Johnson says Aguilar was prepared to trade marijuana for sex.

Aguilar will be on supervised release for three years following his prison term.
